MY SHIELD FOUNDATION exists to be a shield for people during difficult seasons of life.
Our mission is to support individuals and families facing hardship by providing practical assistance, compassionate guidance, and meaningful human connection.
We believe that sometimes help looks like food on the table, a warm blanket, a ride to an important appointment, help finding work, or simply having someone who will listen without judgment.
Our goal is not only to respond to an immediate need, but to walk alongside people as they move toward greater stability, dignity, hope, and independence.
Our Story
MY SHIELD FOUNDATION began with a simple idea:
When someone is going through a difficult season, they should not have to face it alone.
We saw that many people fall between the gaps of traditional services. Someone may have food available at a food bank but no transportation to get it. Another person may need medical care but struggle with transportation or language barriers. Someone may be looking for work but not know where to begin. Others may simply be overwhelmed, discouraged, or in need of someone willing to listen and help them take the next step.
MY SHIELD FOUNDATION was created to help bridge those gaps.
Rather than focusing on only one type of need, we look at the person and ask a simple question:
“What would actually help right now?”
- Sometimes the answer is groceries.
- Sometimes it is transportation.
- Sometimes it is finding employment or accessing community resources.
- Sometimes it is guidance, encouragement, prayer, or simply knowing that someone cares.
The Foundation is built around compassionate, personal service — meeting people where they are and helping them move forward one step at a time.
Our Programs

Food & Essential Needs
We help individuals and families experiencing financial hardship access basic necessities.
Our work may include obtaining and distributing food, picking up food from food banks and community partners, delivering groceries to families who cannot easily travel, and distributing essential items such as blankets, socks, clothing, and other necessities.
Whenever possible, we bring assistance directly to people who may have transportation, mobility, financial, or other barriers that make accessing traditional resources difficult.

Transportation & Community Support
Sometimes the help someone needs already exists — they simply cannot reach it.
MY SHIELD FOUNDATION helps connect people with essential services by assisting with transportation when resources allow.
This may include transportation or transportation coordination for medical appointments, hospitals, community resources, food assistance, and other important needs.
We may also help individuals navigate language or communication barriers when accessing services.

Employment & Life Support
A temporary need should not have to become a permanent crisis.
We help people identify resources and opportunities that can move them toward greater independence.
Support may include assistance with job searches, applications, résumés, identifying employment opportunities, connecting with community resources, basic life coaching, and developing practical next steps toward personal and financial stability.
Our purpose is not simply to solve a problem for someone, but whenever possible, to help them develop the tools and confidence to move forward.

Compassionate Counseling & Encouragement
Not every struggle is financial.
People may experience loneliness, family difficulties, grief, stress, discouragement, or simply feel overwhelmed by life.
MY SHIELD FOUNDATION provides a compassionate space where people can talk, be heard, receive encouragement, and explore practical next steps.
Through supportive conversation, coaching, mentoring, and referrals to appropriate professional or community resources when needed, we seek to remind people that they do not have to navigate difficult seasons alone.

Spiritual Care
For those who desire spiritual support, MY SHIELD FOUNDATION provides opportunities for prayer, Christian encouragement, Bible study, and spiritual conversation.
Spiritual services may include home prayers, Bible studies, Christian education, and helping individuals who are interested in learning more about the Christian faith connect with appropriate church and sacramental resources.
Spiritual participation is always voluntary and is never required to receive assistance from MY SHIELD FOUNDATION.
We serve people with dignity and compassion regardless of their background or beliefs.
How We Serve
Our approach is simple:
Listen. Understand. Help. Walk Together.
Every situation is different. Instead of assuming what someone needs, we begin by listening.
We then determine what assistance we can reasonably provide, what community resources may already be available, and what next steps could help the person or family move forward.
Sometimes we can provide direct assistance. Other times, the most helpful thing we can do is connect someone with an organization better equipped to meet a particular need.
Either way, our goal remains the same:
No one should feel invisible when they are asking for help.

Based in Bellingham, Massachusetts, we serve our neighbors in
Bellingham • Franklin • Attleboro • North Attleboro
and the surrounding Massachusetts communities — bringing help directly to the people who need it.

We envision communities where people look after one another, where asking for help is met with dignity rather than judgment, and where practical compassion creates lasting change.

Every act of compassion in this ministry is currently funded out of pocket. We are not accepting donations at this time while our 501(c)(3) tax-exempt application is pending.
Once approved, donations will be tax-deductible and will go directly toward food, transportation, and care for families in need. Please check back soon.
