CopticVoice is an audiobook app of MY SHIELD FOUNDATION. It carries the My Shield Press library — the Church Fathers and Christian classics retold in simple English, together with original books — so anyone can listen freely.

The short version: listening needs no account and collects nothing. Everything about your listening — where you stopped, your progress, your shelf, your music choice — stays on your own phone. An account is optional and exists only so you can request books.

What stays on your phone

Your listening place (book, chapter, and second), finished chapters, your arranged shelf, favorites, reading speed, and background-music choice are stored only in the app on your device. They are never sent to us. Deleting the app removes them.

Listening and streaming

Audio is streamed from the Internet Archive (archive.org), a free public library that hosts our audio files. As with any website or streaming service, their servers receive your device's internet address in order to send you the audio. We receive no listening reports about you from them.

The Most Listened counter

To show which books the community loves, the app keeps one anonymous counter: when a book is played, it adds a single count for that book — never more than once a day from the same phone. No name, no account, and no device identifier is attached. It counts books, never people.

If you create an account (optional)

Accounts live in the Requests tab and are only for requesting books. If you create one, we store:

• Your name and email address, and the date your account was created
• The last time you opened the app while signed in
• The book requests you send (title, author, and any note) and whether they were approved
• Whether you ticked the box to receive foundation news by email

We keep this only so requests can be reviewed and answered. Approved requests are shown publicly in the app by title; your name appears beside a request only in the foundation's private review list — never publicly.

Email

Only if you tick the email box. News emails from My Shield Foundation always carry an unsubscribe link, and you can untick the box in the app at any time.

What we never collect

• No advertising or tracking data — the app has no ads and no third-party trackers
• No location, contacts, photos, or microphone — the app never asks for these
• We never sell your information, and we never share it with anyone for marketing

Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself, at any time, in the app: open the Requests tab, sign in, and tap Delete my account. Your account, your member record, and your book requests are removed completely and immediately. Listening is unaffected — it never needed the account.

Children

The library is family-safe and anyone may listen — no account is needed. Accounts are meant for adults who want to request books; please do not create an account for a child under 13.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in an important way, the new version will appear on this page with a new date, and the app will carry it in the next update.
